Ducati attend this year’s London Motorcycle Show on the back of a phenomenal 2007 for the Italian manufacturer. Last year saw one of the strongest model line ups ever to leave the Bologna production line bringing success both on and off the track. While the 1098 was winning awards and acclaim throughout the world, Ducati was dominating the MotoGP Championship in a remarkable season that saw Casey Stoner claim the World Championship and helped Ducati to the constructors' crown and teams' title.
Ducati UK celebrate the success of 2007 with a display that includes the 1098 and 1098S Superbikes and the Hypermotard 1100 and 1100S, while 2008 looks set to be another exceptional year for Ducati with new additions to the Superbike family. This 2008 range includes the recently launched 848, already acclaimed as the ‘baby lean machine’ for the exceptional handling it shares with its bigger brother, the 1098. Hot on the heels of the 848 is the 1098R, this 180hp, 165kg race bike, homologated for the road and will lead the charge in the Superbike and Superstock Championships at home and abroad. The 1098R can be seen in Superstock race trim as the North West 200 Ducati team’s 1098R makes its show debut.
Although Superbikes are synonymous with Ducati, the Monster is firmly embedded in Ducati’s DNA and this will be the first time that Londoners will be able to see the new Monster 696. The Monster is the original ‘naked’ motorcycle, launched to rave reviews in the early 90’s it has established a cult following that has included the World’s top designers, Hollywood stars and Formula 1 drivers. The 696 will be launched later this year.
Visitors to the Ducati stand will also be able to see the rest of the 2008 model range, talk to sales staff about the latest PCP offers on selected models and representatives from Ducati Finance and Ducati Insurance will be on hand for insurance and finance enquiries.
For those who wish to brave the winter weather, Ducati will also have a range of demonstrators available to ride, which will include the new 848 as well as Monster s S4RS and 695, Hypermotard and Sport Classics, GT1000 and Sport 1000. Test Rides can be booked at the BSM ‘Ride Out’ stand.
